A Night Song

Fisherman of the Universe -
sailing ships
among these stars
by what
do you test
your compasses?

Edge of the Ocean -
that first step
into the horizon,
a sky storm tossed
if only
by solar wind
and moon tide.

Cave of Stars -
canopy of lights
twinkling as gems,
these fish, strewn
in a black sea
of endless waters.

A Night Song.

This goes with a small drawing I made on July 12th, 2006. The drawing has fish and an ocean on one side, a person in the middle, and transforming out of the person, a bird headed towards the moon and stars. I always draw symbolic artwork - and sometimes they have words to go with the symbols.
